New electric vehicle charging points are now available at West Bridgford car parks

Electric vehicle (EV) charging points have now been installed at Bridgford Road and Nursery car parks in West Bridgford by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC), to meet the increasing demands for EV charging opportunities across the Borough.
The new sites, funded, operated and maintained by delivery partner Qwello, add to the council’s plans growing list of car parks that can encourage greener travel by motorists.
The new hubs offer drivers, who still need to pay and display on arrival, rapid and medium charging options.

· At Bridgford Road Car Park, there are eight medium charge bays of up to 22 kWh AC.
· At the Nursery car park there is a 50kWh DC rapid charger and four Standard Plus charge bays of up to 22kWh AC.
· The speed of AC charge will depend on your vehicle’s on board charger, which is typically 11kWh which can add between 35 to 50 miles range in an hour
· A 50kW DC rapid charger can add up to 150 miles range in an hour

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Environment and Safety Cllr Rob Inglis said: “We’re pleased to see the EV charging points installed and ready to use in West Bridgford’s town centre. The investment now sees Rushcliffe with the most council owned EV charging points in Nottinghamshire.
“These spaces will be able to accommodate the rise in popularity for electric vehicles and give them a convenient place to stop when doing so.
“We’re happy to be building on the EV charging sites we’ve introduced in recent years our sites include Rushcliffe Country Park, Rushcliffe Arena, Gamston Community Hall, Gresham Sports Park and Bunny Lane and Church Drive in Keyworth.
“The addition of these charging spaces is a vital part of our Carbon Clever journey supporting our goal to become carbon neutral in our own operations by 2030. Whilst also aligning with the Government’s target to achieve on emissions by 2050.”
