Last updated: 31/7/2026
Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has launched a new social media tourism campaign, Great Places for Great Days, designed to celebrate and showcase Rushcliffe as a destination for days out, attracting more visitors and supporting local businesses.
The campaign promotes Rushcliffe’s diverse visitor offer, from award-winning food and drink venues and vibrant town and village centres to world-class sporting attractions, rich heritage and beautiful green spaces.
It aims to encourage more people to explore the Borough, support local businesses and spend more time enjoying the area.
RBC’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Business and Growth Cllr Abby Brennan said: “Rushcliffe is packed with great places to discover, from world-class sporting venues and beautiful green spaces to thriving town centres, independent businesses and hidden gems.
“Our Great Places for Great Days campaign brings all of that together under one banner, making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to explore everything our Borough has to offer.
“This campaign is about celebrating what makes Rushcliffe special while supporting the businesses and communities that help our Borough thrive. By encouraging more people to spend time here, we can boost our visitor economy, support local jobs and showcase Rushcliffe as one of the region’s best destinations for a great day out.
“Make sure you follow our new social media accounts and start discovering all the amazing places to explore this summer holiday!”

Rushcliffe already plays an important role in Nottinghamshire’s visitor economy, which attracts almost 35 million visitors each year and generates more than £2.5 billion for the local economy. The new campaign will help strengthen the Borough’s position as one of the region’s premier destinations for leisure, culture, sport and hospitality.
As part of the initiative, the Council has worked with local businesses, community organisations and partners to help shape the social media content that highlights the breadth of experiences available across Rushcliffe.
The campaign showcases everything the Borough has to offer from a wealth of independent shops and cafes in its towns and villages to local events, museums and green spaces, and Premier League football and international cricket at Trent Bridge.
Owner of Number 16 café bistro in Bingham Chris Lees added: “People want to move to Rushcliffe, and people want to visit Rushcliffe and one of the reasons for that is its excellent quality of life.
“Great Places for Great Days is fantastic because it showcases a key part of that lifestyle offer – all the attractions, cafes, independent shops and green spaces that make communities like Bingham what they are. There are so many hidden gems here.
“There is something for everyone in Rushcliffe, whether they’re younger people, families, retired people or people coming from outside the Borough. It’s a brilliant idea and it’s helping support local business and the local economy.”

Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supporting the ambitions of the Council’s Economic Growth Strategy, Great Places for Great Days will provide a single, recognisable identity for promoting the Borough and encouraging repeat visits throughout the year.
Campaign activity includes photography, video content and increased promotion through social media channels, helping to raise awareness of attractions and businesses across Rushcliffe.
Great Places for Great Days will run throughout 2026 and 2027, with themed content focusing on areas including food and drink, sport, heritage, nature and local centres across the Borough.
