£30,000 upgrade completed at Rushcliffe Country Park’s BMX Track

Last updated: 20/10/2026

A £30,000 upgrade to Rushcliffe Country Park’s BMX track has been completed, with improvements helping to enhance safety and the overall experience for riders and visitors.

The 260 metre long track, which was first designed in 2008, has undergone a series of upgrades, by company Bike Track. These include all track surfaces and features reinstated with fresh stone to help maintain the facility for riders of all abilities.

A new path has also been introduced at the end of the track allowing riders to return to the start without travelling back the same way and blocking other users.

For those not trying out their new tricks on the track or needing a break, there is a more formalised social area for them to watch the riders and to catch a breath, whilst having a view of the more advanced areas of the track.

Upgrades to safety have also been considered with the installation of a knee-high railing across areas of the track, to help improve safety.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Wellbeing, Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said: “It’s great to see the track up and running for riders with these excellent new features and refurbishment.

“The improvements will help provide a better experience for users, while the new safety features and social area will make the facility more enjoyable for everyone who visits.

“I look forward to seeing local residents and visitors make the most of this upgraded track within one of our popular parks.”

Nottingham Outlaws BMX club are among those now benefitting from the investment and trying out their tricks at the park. They encourage those who want to try out BMX riding for the first time to contact them.
