More than just golf! Edwalton Golf Centre welcome £100,000 refurbishments

Visitors at Edwalton Golf Centre can enjoy recent £100,000 refurbishments at the site which offers ‘more than just golf’ with a café and bar and upgraded bookable meeting and function room.

Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has invested in the new facilities off Wellin Lane in the village which include a refreshed food and drink menu offering freshly made quality pizzas from its new pizza oven and a selection of new draft beer and ales.

The golf centre is also hosting weekly baby sensory and signing sessions held in their versatile function room which is also home to new highchairs for the clubhouse to cater for family groups.

Toddler Talking takes place from 10am to 11am and Baby Signing from 11.15am to 12.15pm. For more information on the TinyTalk classes with Jessica Cripps.

On Saturday mornings from 11am to 11.30am Move Academy run Ballet Tots for ages 3yrs to 5yrs. For more information email move.performing.arts@gmail.com.

Little Glow Rushcliffe is also hosting an Easter Special Baby Sensory Class on Friday March 22 from 10am to 11am. The session costs £6.50 and further details are available the Little Glow Rushcliffe website.

New golfing equipment, course enhancements, new mowers, tee returfing, bunker refurbishment, and new signage around the facility to encourage non golfers into the clubhouse. 

Five new electric golf buggies are now in use replacing their petrol equivalents and helping to reduce carbon emissions at the course.

The venue also now has a new defibrillator situated outside the building and is accessible 24/7 for anyone who should need it.

The life-saving equipment has been installed as part of RBC's Safe Hearts in Sport initiative, supported by Shared Prosperity Funding from the UK Government.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Wellbeing, ICT and Member Development Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said: “Edwalton Golf Centre is a fantastic venue which is really more than just golf and we encourage you to take a look and enjoy all the facilities on offer!

“We have a lovely café where you can relax and catch up with your friends, enjoy a refreshing drink and tasty freshly cooked pizza from our brand new pizza oven.

“There’s also a pool table in the lounge area if you fancy a game of pool.

“Our meeting room has free wifi and is available for anyone to hire and we’re currently hosting family friendly baby sessions in the room for local residents. 

“We’ve also invested in our golf course which boasts a fantastic nine-hole main course, par 3 course, driving range and putting green.

“Whether you’re Tiger Woods or playing golf for the first time, come on down to Edwalton and enjoy a round or two!”
