Last updated: 24/3/2024

There are further plans for play area refurbishment in Rushcliffe with local facilities at Greythorn Park in West Bridgford set to benefit £80,000 of improvements from Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC).

The Greythorn Drive based park will see the changes after the Easter holidays in April and includes an extension to the play area, new cradle swings, inclusive play panels and colourful ground graphic games.

There will be new inclusive equipment including a jeep, seesaw, spinning bowl, dynamic rope swings and refurbishment of current play equipment, ground works and resurfacing.

Plans are also in development for refurbishment of the informal astroturf football pitch and a new bench to provide seating around the play area.

This latest round of investment in local sites is seeing £175,000 of upgrades at the site and Rushcliffe Country Park with both parks works set to be finished by June.

Works will be completed by Bradmore based playground equipment supplier Proludic Ltd who have designed the updated features.

RBC’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Wellbeing, ICT & Member Development Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said: “Following news of refurbishment at the Country Park in Ruddington in recent days, we’re very pleased another play site will receive vital investment totalling £175,000.

“We know how much residents value these facilities and many will benefit from these ongoing upgrades, not least because it is a site close to so many local schools and that will include increased inclusive equipment.

“We are listening to residents and park goers’ views as to what they want to see with features at their local parks and will assist in updating our Play Strategy in the coming months.”
