Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Streetwise team has scooped a national award and been named Best Council Services team at the prestigious MJ Awards!
Mayor Cllr Richard Butler, Chief Executive Adam Hill, Streetwise Manager Luke Colaluca and team member Evelyn Shaw received the congratulations of colleagues from across the country when they won the award in London.
They went head-to-head with some of the best unitary, county, district and borough authorities nationally for the accolade.
Judges were impressed with the exceptional leadership in the transition to move all fleet to electric vehicles and reduce their carbon footprint and the improvement in staff morale and resident feedback, citing a great example of making things happen.
Mr Mayor Cllr Butler said: “We are very proud of our Streetwise team here at Rushcliffe Borough Council, this award is testament to all they have achieved in recent years.
“The staff members richly deserve this for the very high standards and quality of the grounds maintenance, street cleansing and tree services we provide across our public areas, parks and open spaces, supported by our legal, finance, ICT and HR teams.
"Winning Best Council Services highlights further to our residents and fellow industry professionals of the success of their operating model and how it can be a template for success.
"We think it shows how exceptional hard work and ever-greater focus and determination to deliver in the local community can produce a forward-thinking service.
“It is a real achievement to be acknowledged in the same breath as other successful Councils with significantly larger populations and resources. We fully deserve to be up there acknowledged with the very best councils in the country.”
RBC Chief Executive Adam Hill said: “I’m incredibly proud of the Streetwise Team, this national award and recognition really reflect the professionalism and dedication of the staff delivering high quality services for our communities.”
