Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is pleased to confirm it will invest over £100,000 to deliver improvements to the play area at The Hook in Lady Bay in West Bridgford.
The refurbishment delivered by Proludic Limited will see a refreshed playground featuring 14 new pieces of equipment, creating even more opportunities for children and young people to play, climb, explore and have fun.
Several popular existing items will also remain as part of the upgraded facility.
The new equipment will include:
- A large climbing and play unit with a slide
- A four metre high climbing net
- A new Maxi slide
- An accessible roundabout for wheelchair users
- New swings, including inclusive seating and a parent-and-toddler swing
- An inclusive play vehicle
- New spring-mounted play equipment
- A sensory play panel
- A symphony bell bouquet – an outdoor music feature
- Colourful playground markings and games
Work is expected to begin at the end of November and, weather permitting, completed by the Christmas Festive holidays.
Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Wellbeing, Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said: “It’s great to see the Hook Play Area is going to be given a new lease of life through this investment, as it’s such an important facility for the local community.
“We know how popular this site, along with the adjacent skate park and basketball court, is with local people.
“This project builds on Rushcliffe Borough Council’s £1 million investment in parks and open spaces across the Borough since 2021 and I look forward to coming back and seeing the new improvements.”
