Share views on planning guidance for Gamston and Tollerton development at local libraries
Last updated: 8/10/2025
Residents are reminded they can share their views on planning guidance for a development at the east of Gamston and north of Tollerton site, that includes Tollerton Airfield, in a five-week consultation at West Bridgford Library, Cotgrave Library and online.
This is the latest part of the planning process for the site but no planning application has yet to be determined.
Paper copies of a comment form can be completed at Rushcliffe Borough Council’s (RBC) Customer Service Contact Points at West Bridgford Library, Bridgford Road NG2 6AT and Cotgrave Library, Rivermead NG12 3UQ during all library opening hours until 5pm on Wednesday November 5.
The comment form is also available on RBC's website and any other written comments can also be sent:
- By email to localdevelopment@rushcliffe.gov.uk , or
- By post to: Planning Policy, Rushcliffe Borough Council, Rushcliffe Arena, Rugby Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7YG
For further information about the Tollerton Airfield site, please visit www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/tollertonairfield
The land was allocated in RBC’s Local Plan in 2014, for 4,000 new homes, employment space and necessary supporting infrastructure, including new schools and other community facilities.
The draft guidance, also known as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), includes detailed requirements for the different types of development on site, how people will access and move around the site, and the core facilities that will be needed.
The SPD will include a masterplan to ensure delivery of necessary site-wide infrastructure and sets out the specific requirements of RBC, the local highway authority, the local education authority and health providers, to ensure those submitting applications are informed about the requirements from the outset.
As part of the consultation, RBC is hosting an in-person event at Gamston Community Hall in West Bridgford NG2 6PS on Wednesday October 22 from 3pm to 8pm for residents to speak to officers, find out more about the SPD, and share their views on the draft planning guidance.
The venue is located adjacent to Morrisons Gamston, has free on-site parking and local bus routes nearby.
