Proms in the Park takes place this weekend – with ABBA tribute act!Last updated: 22/6/2023
This year’s super trouper Proms in the Park event returns to West Bridgford this Saturday June 24 with an ABBA tribute band headlining the annual celebration in conjunction with the national Armed Forces Day.
Music fans can enjoy a full day of exciting performances from talented musicians and singers including a finale show by Mania The ABBA Tribute at the annual event which returns to Bridgford Park this weekend from 12.30pm to 9pm.
Rushcliffe Borough Council will also welcome a varied programme of musical talent from community performers through to national artists entertaining event goers throughout the day to the free event with no tickets or booking required.
Proms in the Park is part funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), part of UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda, providing funding for local investment.
The stage programme starts at 12.30pm with Nottingham Concert Band performing a rousing Last Night of the Proms style set with our finale act Mania The ABBA Tribute set to take to stage at 7.30pm.
The full stage programme is as follows*:
- 12.30pm-2pm: Nottingham Concert Band
- 2.30pm-3pm: Steven Turner, self-taught Opera singer
- 3.15pm-4.10pm: The Hot Dog Brass Band
- 4.30pm-5:15pm: Carlton Male Voice Choir
- 5.45pm-6.45pm: Penny Lane String Quartet
- 7.30pm-9pm: Mania The ABBA Tribute

The outdoor concert also gives people a chance to support local Armed Forces and representatives from the Nottingham Sea Cadets, Royal British Legion, with 209 Squadron ATC based in the Borough and HMS Sherwood both returning this year.
Local sports clubs and partners, including Nottingham Forest Community Trust, Nottingham Rugby and British Cycling will all also be in attendance.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day including hot and cold drinks, a licensed bar, ice cream, popcorn, slushies and a BBQ.
This year also marks the one-hundredth year of Bridgford Park and there will be an opportunity to celebrate the park’s centenary year with a display of its history.
