Remaining bring bank sites confirmed following success of household glass collections

Last updated: 8/1/2026

Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) will be reducing the current number of bring and recycling bank sites following the successful roll out of over 50,000 purple lidded glass bins to residents.

The following nine sites in key strategic locations in the Borough’s largest towns and villages will continue to be available to recycle glass in addition to the new kerbside service.

  • Newgate Street Car Park, Bingham NG13 8FD
  • Cotgrave Leisure Centre Car Park, Woodview NG12 3PJ
  • East Leake Co-op Car Park, Main Street LE12 6PG
  • Gamston Morrisons Car Park, Ambleside, West Bridgford NG2 6PS
  • Bunny Lane Health Centre Car Park, Keyworth NG12 5JU
  • Radcliffe-on-Trent Health Centre Car Park, Main Road NG12 2GD
  • Ruddington Co-op, Church Street NG11 6HD
  • The Hook Car Park, Holme Road, West Bridgford NG2 5BG
  • West Bridgford Asda Car Park, Loughborough Road NG2 7JA

All other sites listed below will not be available to recycle glass from Monday January 12.

It’s thanks to residents widely embracing Rushcliffe Borough Council’s (RBC) new free kerbside collections from December now helping to recycle used items into new glass bottles and jars, with over 400 tonnes of glass collected in the first five weeks of collections.

The changes are in line with government’s Simpler Recycling project to continue to assist residents to play their part and drive up the Borough’s recycling rate even further.

The glass collected at home, or at any remaining recycling sites can be mixed of any colour thanks to significant improvements in separation technology, which now allows glass to be colour sorted at the reprocessor, saving energy and resources.

Glass collections take place every six weeks on the same day as residents’ current grey bin collections. Residents can check their collection dates on RBC’s 2025/26 bin calendar and on the authority’s website.

Kerbside collections allow residents to recycle glass from home, reducing the need to travel to the remaining communal bring banks. As a result, trips to recycling sites are no longer necessary for most households.
