Confirm your household’s details to ensure all at your address are registered to vote

Last updated: 11/7/2025

Local residents in Rushcliffe are being encouraged not to lose their voice on matters that affect them by completing their annual canvass form when it arrives through the post in the coming weeks.

The form ensures that Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) can keep the electoral register up to date and identify any residents who are not registered to vote so that they can be encouraged to do so.

All residents are asked to follow instructions on the form and respond where required. Emails will be sent to residents prompting them to respond online before reminder forms are posted.

Where a response is needed, please complete the form online.

Those who have moved address recently are particularly encouraged to keep an eye out for the form and ensure the details are correct and up to date.

Adam Hill, Electoral Registration Officer at Rushcliffe Borough Council said: “It’s very important that residents respond as soon as possible where required when they receive an email or letter.

“This is so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in Rushcliffe.

“To ensure you can have your say at future elections, simply check the details of the email or form when it arrives, follow the instructions and respond where necessary.

“If you’re not currently registered to vote, your name will not appear on the form. If you want to register, the easiest way is on the Government website, or we’ll send you information explaining how to do this in the post.”

Research by the independent Electoral Commission indicates that recent home movers are far less likely to be registered than those that have lived at the same address for a long time.

There’s lots of helpful information about registering to vote on the Electoral Commission’s website.
