This year’s free event is sponsored by Royston & Lund, Spire Nottingham Hospital and Proludic Ltd and will bring an array of attractions including an inflatable fun zone, soft play, storytelling and sports sessions, for young children and families to enjoy at Bridgford Park in West Bridgford from 10am to 4pm.

Joker Entertainment, Jo Jingles, Dynamic Dance and Super Sparkle Parties are returning to entertain the little ones with free singing and shows throughout the day.

Additional activities inspired by different cultures include Maypole dancing, Djembe drums and Chinese Dragon dancing.

There will also be a range of free sports sessions delivered by National Ice Arena, Lex Leisure, West Bridgford Tennis Club, Nottingham Rugby Club and Via East Midlands.

Visitors can also explore an array of food and drink stalls and charity and community stands, packed with useful freebies and information on a range of services and activities offered through local organisations.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Wellbeing, ICT and Member Development Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said: “Lark in the Park is back this August 6, and we’re looking forward to welcoming the thousands of families and children to Bridgford Park to celebrate Play Day, the national day of play!

“It’s a fantastic, action-packed event that gives friends and families the opportunity to spend quality time together, enjoying a range of free activities and entertainment and above all a fun-filled day!

“This year’s theme is Spaces for Play which highlights the vital importance of accessible, inclusive spaces where children and young people have opportunities to play freely, connect with friends and feel valued as part of their community.

“Here in the Borough, we have invested over £1 million in our community play facilities to provide new, modern and inclusive facilities for all children to enjoy.

“We’ve worked with Proludic Ltd who have designed the new features at parks such as Rushcliffe Country Park, Greythorn Park, and more.

“With recent upgrades to Bridge Field Teen Park and Bridgford Park play area, why not check them out whilst you’re at Lark in the Park!”

“Thank you to our event sponsors who are wonderful local businesses Royston & Lund, Spire Nottingham Hospital, and Proludic Ltd.”
