Ruddington Wellness Centre receives RBC funding boost to revitalise building

Last updated: 23/9/2025

Ruddington Wellness Centre has received a funding boost from Rushcliffe Borough Council’s (RBC) High Street Small Business Grants Scheme to support the redevelopment of the exterior of its premises, while carefully preserving the building’s heritage and original wall signage.

The £4,000 grant, awarded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), has been match-funded by the business, enabling essential brickwork repairs and the addition of hand-painted signage designed to complement the surrounding village setting.

Located at 2 Shaw Street, Ruddington, the Centre offers modern, fully furnished therapy and counselling rooms available to rent on flexible terms, providing a professional and welcoming environment for practitioners to support their clients.

RBC’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Wellbeing, ICT & Member Development Cllr Jonathan Wheeler visited the Centre to view the recent upgrades.

Cllr Wheeler said: “We’re pleased to support these works through our High Street Grants Scheme, which is designed to help local traders enhance the appearance of their premises.

“These improvements ensure the Ruddington Wellness Centre is in keeping with its surroundings and reflect the business’s ongoing commitment to investment, following a major interior refit and refurbishment. Visitors can now enjoy a calm and welcoming space, both inside and out.”

Owners Nigel and Michelle Jahina purchased the former veterinary clinic in July 2024 and have since overseen a complete transformation.

Nigel added: “We’ve worked hard to create a modern, calming interior, and with RBC’s support, we’ve been able to restore the exterior in a way that respects the building’s history. From the brickwork to the original signage, it now reflects both heritage and renewal.

“We’re proud to offer a nurturing, professional setting for practitioners and clients alike and look forward to growing our wellness community here in the heart of Ruddington.”
