Rushcliffe Borough Council’s (RBC) Streetwise team has been announced as a finalist for Best Council Services team at the forthcoming prestigious Municipal Journal (MJ) Awards with winners to be announced in London in June.
The authority will now go head-to-head with some of the best unitary, county, district and borough authorities in the country for the accolade.
The Council’s Chief Executive Adam Hill will be part of a team presenting and taking part in a question and answer session on behalf of the Council to a panel of judges in March before the winners are announced in the summer.
He said: “Being a finalist for Best Council Services is great news and highlights further to our residents and fellow industry professionals of the success of the Streetwise model.
“As a Council, we have always prided ourselves on the high standards and quality of the grounds maintenance, street cleansing and tree services we provide across the public areas, parks and open spaces we are responsible for.
“Since operations came back in-house in 2022, there has been an ever-greater focus and determination to deliver in the local community too, with an emphasis on a forward-thinking service and clients have given us great feedback.
“It is a real achievement to reach this stage and to be acknowledged in the same breath as other successful Councils with significantly larger populations and resources. It is also testament to the progress that has been made and we are proud of our members and staff whose dedication and hard work has led to us receiving this national recognition from the MJ Awards.
“We are proud to represent the Rushcliffe community we serve and fully deserve to be up there acknowledged with the very best councils in the country.”
