Nominate a Young Person or Group of the Year at the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards!
Last updated: 2/10/2025
Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is encouraging residents to nominate an inspiring young person or group for a prestigious award at their annual Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards with Parkwood Leisure.
Nominations for the Young Person/Group of the Year Award sponsored by Ideagen can highlight an individual or group under the age of 25, who are an excellent role model for other young people to emulate.
This could be through volunteering or making a difference in their community, or a junior sports team who have excelled over the year.
With just 10 days to go until the closing date, people are being asked to put forward their nominations via surveymonkey or by calling 0115 914 8555, Monday to Friday 10am to 3pm.
Last year, Keyworth Lightning Girls Under 11s scooped the Young Person or Group of the Year accolade, which was presented by Ideagen CEO Ben Dorks.
The all-girls football team joined the Young Elizabethan League (YEL) and subsequently became the first girls’ team to ever win a boys YEL league title, breaking down barriers and acting as role models for other girls in sport.
Coach Mark Ryan created the team to give them more challenges and their commitment and outstanding teamwork shone brightly.
This year’s awards evening will take place on December 10 and will celebrate the Borough’s wonderful volunteers, businesses, clubs, organisations, environmentalists, sports clubs and athletes and the best of its health and wellbeing and food and drink sectors.
In partnership with media partner West Bridgford Wire, it will be an opportunity to reflect on so many groups and individuals who play essential roles in Rushcliffe communities, bringing out the best in people and enterprise.
