Request
I am writing to request information under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 regarding householder planning applications for solar photovoltaic (PV) panels within the Hickling Conservation Area. Specifically, I would like to request data from the last 10 years regarding properties on Main Street, Hickling (LE14):
- How many householder planning applications have been submitted for the installation of solar panels on residential properties where the panels would be located on a roof slope or wall fronting Main Street?
- Of those specific street-facing applications, how many were:
- Approved/Granted
- Refused/Rejected
- Withdrawn
Please provide the planning application reference numbers for any approved or refused solar panel applications on Main Street so that I may review the decision notices on your public planning portal.
If this request requires clarification or if filtering by street-facing elevations is too granular within the cost limit, please provide a total tally of all householder solar applications within the Hickling Conservation Area boundary.
Of note I have reviewed the Rushcliffe online planning portal re this specific request solar panels , main street Hickling and only able to find one. I am thus concerned that in this current climate crisis I may be missing some valuable data which would help us in our decision to decide to apply for planning for solar panels.
Response
I can see that we have 0 applications which would meet your criteria, both specifically on Main Street and within the conservation area.
I'm mindful that you have suggested that you found 1, the only possible application I can find within the last 10 years include a Certificate of Lawfulness Application on Main Street (23/00320/CLUPRD). This is not a planning application and related to solar panels on a rear elevation facing away from a road. Certificates are mechanisms by which it can be confirmed that an application for planning permission is not required. The application resulted in a certificate being granted (no application for planning permission is required). I understand this is the one application you had found and referenced in your request.
