New Rushcliffe Local Plan

Rushcliffe Borough Council is preparing a new Rushcliffe Local Plan, that is due to be finalised in 2029. 

The new Local Plan will be prepared in accordance with the government’s updated plan-making system. It will be produced within a formal 30‑month timeframe and will be primarily digital in format. The plan will establish a clear vision and spatial development strategy for the borough, focusing on site allocations and locally specific spatial policies. More general policies will be addressed through the national decision-making framework set out in the new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

Notice to commence the new Rushcliffe Local Plan

The Council has given notice on 30 June 2026 of the commencement of the new Rushcliffe Local Plan under the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.

 

Local plan timetable

The council has published its Local Plan timetable. This came into effect on 30 June 2026 and will be reviewed monthly(?).
