Request

I request the following under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

  1. The number of potentially contaminated sites identified by your council in 2000 to whenever the analysis was conducted.
  2. The number of these sites that were deemed high risk.
  3. The number of sites inspected that had significant levels of contamination, but have since been remediated.
  4. Details of the location of the potentially contaminated sites that were deemed high risk.
a.This could be in the form of addresses, latitude and longitude coordinates, or grid reference numbers.
I would like this information sent to me in an Excel friendly format.

In addition, I would also like to request, under EIR:

  1. The number of contaminated land inspections carried out per year by the council, from 1 January 2022 to 1 June 2026.
  2. The amount of money currently allocated to contaminated land work in the council’s most recent budget.
  3. The date of their last published Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy produced by your council

It's been pointed out to me that I should offer a clarification on my EIR request.

The BBC has reported that in the year 2000, local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales were ordered to draw up a list of potentially contaminated sites in their area and remediate those considered a genuine risk to human health.

I am requesting the number of potentially contaminated sites identified by your council as part of that process, from 2000 to whenever the analysis was conducted.

Again, if any of the information I’ve requested is covered by one or of the exemptions under the EIR, please let me know and suggest alternative ways for me to obtain the information.

If you have any questions or clarifications about this request, please let me know.

Response

  2. The number of these sites that were deemed high risk. There are currently no high-risk sites.
  3. The number of sites inspected that had significant levels of contamination, but have since been remediated. Two sites have been inspected that required remediation/risk management under the Part 2A contaminated land regime.
  4. Details of the location of the potentially contaminated sites that were deemed high risk. Not Applicable

In addition, I would also like to request, under EIR:
