I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please provide 5 years worth of data for the following, to the dates below :

• 1st June 2025 - 31st May 2026
• 1st June 2024 - 31st May 2025
• 1st June 2023 - 31st May 2024
• 1st June 2022 - 31st May 2023
• 1st June 2021 - 31st May 2022

1. Does your council offer kerbside recycling waste collection of batteries and/or small electrical products? (Please answer: batteries and small electrical products, batteries only, small electrical products only, or no)
2. What is the quantity (in weight) of vaping products processed in the recycling waste facilities in your council area?
3. What is the overall quantity (in weight) of battery and/or small electrical items processed in the recycling waste facilities in your council area?
4. How many fire incidents have occurred at waste disposal, recycling sites, or in bin lorries?

Response

1. Does your council offer kerbside recycling waste collection of batteries and/or small electrical products? (Please answer: batteries and small electrical products, batteries only, small electrical products only, or no) Yes, tonnages detailed are for a full year 1 April to 31 March. These cannot be broken into months as requested as tonnages are provided to us quarterly. We started collecting small electrical products from the kerbside in 2024/25
   • 1st April 2025 - 31st March 2026 - Small electrical = 11 tonnes, Batteries = 8.48 tonnes
   • 1st April 2024 - 31st March 2025 - Small electrical = 9.94 tonnes, Batteries = 5.88 tonnes
   • 1st April 2023 - 31st March 2024 - No Small electrical, Batteries = 1.70 tonnes
   • 1st April 2022 - 31st March 2023 - No Small electrical, Batteries = 5.2 tonnes
   • 1st April 2021 - 31st March 2022 - No Small electrical. Batteries = 8.18 tonnes
2. What is the quantity (in weight) of vaping products processed in the recycling waste facilities in your council area? Recycling sites in Rushcliffe, are the remit of Nottinghamshire County Council, as the waste disposal authority.
3. What is the overall quantity (in weight) of battery and/or small electrical items processed in the recycling waste facilities in your council area? Recycling sites in Rushcliffe, are the remit of Nottinghamshire County Council, as the waste disposal authority.
4. How many fire incidents have occurred at waste disposal, recycling sites, or in bin lorries? There have been zero fires during the collection process in any bin lorries. For information about waste disposal sites or recycling sites these fall under the remit of Nottinghamshire County Council, as the waste disposal authority.
