    • By contacting the DFG team directly
  7. What checks are carried out as part of the initial accreditation process?
    • Checks with other Councils, membership of Industry Bodies, for example, Trading Standards Approved, testimonials, examples of completed works and checks on insurance / companies house enquiries.
  8. What regular (for example annual) checks do you make on existing contractors?
    • Ongoing inspections of completed works, annual reviews of insurance / membership of industry bodies
  9. What is the process for removing contractors from the list?
    • We have recently removed contractors from our list due to re-location / retirement, but we have not had to remove contractors from the list due to poor work / unprofessional customer service.
  10. How do you handle cases where an applicant wants to use a contractor that is not on your list?
    • Our applicants are free to use their own contractor, on the understanding that they do so at their own risk.
  11. How do contractors typically provide prices for individual DFG applications? For example, quotation, framework, schedule of rates.
    • Individual quotations for each job, based on an inspection and the plans / schedule of works the DFG team produces.
