Screveton
Information and a map of Screveton Conservation Area.
This Conservation Area includes the majority of the built-up area of the village. It contains 9 Listed Buildings, and was designated a Conservation Area in 2026.
Screveton features several notable landmarks that contribute to its historical and cultural character. Chief among these is St Wilfrid’s Church, a Grade I listed building of 13th-century origin, located just outside the conservation area to the south of the village. Though set apart from the main settlement, the church remains a focal point of local heritage. Other key landmarks include the Old Priest’s House, Top Farmhouse, and the adjacent historic buildings, as well as the distinctive circular pinfold, a traditional feature also seen in other nearby villages.
The boundary of the Conservation Area was first adopted in January 2026 following research and assessment work during 2004/5
