Details of Decision: To vary the Councils Leisure contract with Parkwood Leisure.

Authority for decision

Delegated Authority from Cabinet 12 May 2020:

That a variation to the Parkwood/Lex leisure contract be negotiated, to cover the period when leisure centres have to remain closed due to Covid-19 and the Section 151 Officer (in consultation with the Monitoring Officer) be granted delegated authority to agree the contract variation.

Decision

To vary the Councils Leisure contract with Parkwood Leisure.

Reasons for decision

Following the outbreak of Covid-19 and the order to close Leisure Centres, Rushcliffe Borough Council took the urgent decision to close all leisure centres in the Borough. In the interim, Cabinet has decided that the contract should be varied to maintain the provision during this period and to support its re-opening: Cabinet decision 12 May 2020

The decision has been taken with regard to guidance issued in response to the pandemic.

The initial variation expired on the 30 June 2020. A further variation has been agreed to the 31 December 2020 with review dates on the 30 September and 31 December 2020.

None – the decision is in accordance with procurement guidance PPN02, and the Local Government Association guidance.
