Funding for Sport and Athletes

Rushcliffe Borough Council has a number of funding opportunities for sports clubs and talented athletes who are based in the borough.

Rushcliffe Coach Scholarship Scheme

Rushcliffe’s Coach Scholarship Scheme is for people wishing to take L1, L2 and L3 coaching qualifications, there are two rounds each year. For more information and details of how to apply visit our coaching page.

Rushcliffe Borough Council FANS (Free Access to National Sportspeople)

The FANS scheme provides sportspeople of a national level with free access to fitness, swimming and aerobics for 12 months at Rushcliffe Borough Council run sports facilities. FANS aims to assist elite sportspeople to achieve their full potential by reducing the financial burden of training costs. The scheme is only available to Rushcliffe residents who are members of national squads in Sport England recognised sports. Please visit our elite athlete page for further information.

Rushcliffe Elite Sports Grant

The Elite Sports Grant is available to support a small number of athletes with a grant of up to £400. The aim is to alleviate some of the financial burden that competing at an elite level places upon individuals and families as this is often a barrier to achievement.  

Applications to the grant scheme are encouraged from athletes who are currently performing at international level with priority being given to competitors in sports or disciplines represented at the Olympic & Paralympic Games or Commonwealth Games. Other Funding

There are many funding opportunities available to sports clubs and individuals to support their club and facility development and to increase the number of people taking part in sport and physical activity.
