How many payments were made to Rushcliffe Borough Council each day during January, February and March 2023, and how many of those payments failed? Numbers to be provided daily, or weekly if daily is not available.

Following your information request above please find below a breakdown of the number of card payments that have registered on our payments system as either successful, declined, or other. Payments that declined straight off were declined by the card issuing bank those that are at other show as failed and this is due to various reasons, we have seen an increase in the number of payments that are failing as other following the increased in security for card transactions globally. We are also aware that our 3rd party payment system provider has experienced some technical issues nationally in relation to the speed of the responses meaning payments are timing out and they have been working on resolving these issues and have rolled out several fixes to their systems over the past few months.
Please note as you have requested information regarding failed payments and card payments are the only payments where we would be able to see a failure these are the payment figures we have provided and as this information is not something we regularly record we have provided this weekly. If your request related to all payment method’s, please let us know.
