Streetwise on the Ground: Caravan Clearance

Streetwise Cleansing team tackles 'Old Mabel'

We wonder how many miles ‘Old Mabel’ has travelled over the years.

Once upon a time, this caravan was probably someone’s pride and joy. Family holidays, weekends by the sea and plenty of happy memories along the way.

Fast forward a few years and Old Mabel finds herself abandoned in a lay-by on the A52 in Rushcliffe, full to the brim with waste and left for someone else to deal with and that someone was our Streetwise team.

We captured some of the clean-up on video because I think it’s important to show the work that often goes unseen.

These incidents don’t clear themselves. Behind every pile of dumped waste or abandoned item is a frontline team that has to step in and sort it out.

A big thanks to Brian, Michel, Figo and Papa, who just got stuck in and got the job done.

Sadly, waste criminals continue to find increasingly creative ways of getting rid of rubbish. But whatever turns up, our teams will keep doing their bit to put things right.
