For all matters in response to this freedom of information request, please return response to the email address stated above. Please provide the following current information:

1. The job title and, where disclosure is appropriate, the name of the officer responsible for:
   • corporate learning and development;
   • Workforce development;
   • Equality, diversity and inclusion; and
   • Learning or workforce development within Children’s Services or Children’s Social Care.
     • For each role, please provide:
       • the relevant team or department;
       • the business email address;
       • the direct business telephone number or team telephone number;
     • Where an individual officer’s name or direct contact details cannot be disclosed, please provide the relevant job title, generic team email address and team telephone number, for each team.
2. Please confirm whether the council currently provides any of the following staff training:
   • British Sign Language training;
   • Deaf-awareness training;
   • Please confirm whether British Sign Language or Deaf-awareness training is:
     • Mandatory or optional;
     • Delivered annually or at another regular interval;
     • Available council-wide or only to specified services or departments.
     • Is the training provided to staff accredited by Signature ( Awarding body for all BSL British sign language courses).
3. For each of the completed financial years 2024/25 and 2025/26, please provide:
   • The council’s total centrally held budget for staff learning, training and development.
   • The total centrally recorded expenditure on staff learning, training and development.
   • Where separately identifiable from centrally held records, the total expenditure on:
     • British Sign Language training;
     • Deaf-awareness training;
     • Disability-awareness or accessibility training;
     • Equality, diversity and inclusion training.
4. Where centrally recorded, the number of British Sign Language or Deaf awareness courses or workshops commissioned during those two financial years.
5. Where centrally recorded, the names of external organisations commissioned to deliver British Sign Language or Deaf-awareness training.
6. Where centrally recorded, The names of BSL / Deaf awareness, training providers who have provided their services for staff training over the last 2 financial years, 2024/25, 2025/26.
