Monthly Business Rates Data
Below is the Council’s Business Rates data published under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We do not include records or correspondence addresses for sole traders or individuals as this is personal data and therefore protected by Data Protection legislation. As a result, these fields will be shown as blank.
The records show who is responsible for paying the Business Rates, not who owns the property. The ratepayer may be the occupier, the leaseholder, or the owner.
The correspondence address shown is the last contact address we hold on our Business Rates records.
We do not include account references for security reasons.
The data is a snapshot taken on the day the report is created. It covers the current financial year (1 April to 31 March), unless noted otherwise in the report.
Please note that our Business Rates records only go back to 1 April 2000. If a liability started before this date, it will be recorded as starting on 1 April 2000.
This report is published on a monthly basis. We do not provide individual responses to requests for information already included in these reports and will direct such requests to this webpage instead.
Examples of the types of requests for which we do not provide individual responses include:
- A list of all business properties, including the property references, property addresses, ratepayer names, correspondence addresses, start dates of liability, occupancy status, empty status and annual rates charged.
- The current rateable values and/or the property descriptions for all business properties.
- A list of all business properties in receipt of relief, including the start date, the percentage, and the amount of relief applied.
