Response

1. What method do you use for weed control?
   • Herbicide
2. Do you use chemicals?
   • Glyphosate based herbicide and eco-plugs for killing tree stumps, Roundup weed killer for the general weed spraying, Turf Master for spraying the pitches
3. If you use chemicals is the council looking to using a more environmentally friendly method?
   • We are trialling a number of sites this summer with a view to omitting use of herbicide alongside a reduced mowing regime. It is considered that the use of herbicide will be used to some degree for the foreseeable future.
4. Does the council carry out weed control duties in-house or is this contracted out?
   • Through our appointed contractor.
5. If contracted out, who is the contractor responsible for weed control duties?
   • Streetwise Environmental Ltd.
6. Does the council have a budget for a chemical free alternative?
   • No
