Request
Following the use of weed killing spray in Tollerton yesterday, the pavements are littered with dead bees (see photos).
I ask as a matter of urgency:
- The council's policy on use of weed killer
- The cost of current use in the borough and Tollerton village
- The type of weed killer used
- Why weed killer is used at a time when vital pollinators are so under threat.
Response
To confirm, Rushcliffe are not responsible for weed spraying either the footpaths and carriageways across Nottinghamshire. The weed spraying of such public highways is the responsibility of Nottinghamshire County Council, or their appointed contractor.
