Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide the following information regarding the council's arrangements for the removal, storage and disposal of abandoned vehicles (per duties under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978): 

  1. The name of any external contractor(s) currently engaged for abandoned vehicle removal, storage and/or disposal, or confirmation that this is delivered in-house.
  2. The start date and expiry date of any such contract(s), including any extension options.
  3. The annual value of any such contract(s), or the total annual spend on this service.
  4. Whether abandoned vehicles are covered by a standalone arrangement or form part of a wider contract (e.g. parking enforcement); if the latter, the name and expiry date of that wider contract.
  5. The number of abandoned vehicle reports received, and the number of vehicles removed, in each of the last two financial years.
  6. The name of any software system(s) used to manage abandoned vehicle reports, tracking and removal.
  7. The name and job title of the officer, or the name of the team, responsible for managing the abandoned vehicle removal service, or, where a named individual would be exempt under Section 40 of the Act, the job title alone.

Whether abandoned vehicles are covered by a standalone arrangement or form part of a wider contract (e.g. parking enforcement); if the latter, the name and expiry date of that wider contract. Abandoned Vehicles are dealt with by Environmental Health, Parking Enforcement comes under the jurisdiction of Nottinghamshire County Council.
  5. The number of abandoned vehicle reports received, and the number of vehicles removed, in each of the last two financial years.20.
