First Parking LLP manage a car park situated at The University of Nottingham, College Road, Sutton Bonington, Loughborough, LE12 5RD.

1. Has planning permission and/or consent been applied for to erect ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras and also signage that are on this car park?
2. If permission/consent was obtained, can you tell me the application number?
3. If permission/consent has not been obtained, what will the council do to remedy the situation?
4. Who is the landowner of this car park?
5. What date (if known) were the cameras installed?
6. What date were the signs erected?

Response

There is no record of planning permission granted specifically for ANPR cameras, however, these will seldom require planning permission, particularly if installed on an existing structure.  Similarly there is no record of advertisement consent for signs in the car parking areas, however, in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisement) (England) Regulations 2007, permission would not be required for signs not readily visible from outside the enclosed land or from any place to which the public have a right of access.  We do not hold information of land ownership or when the cameras or signs were erected.
