Film and Food Festival

Discover the fantastic free West Bridgford Film and Food Festival!

West Bridgford will host a fantastic new free Film and Food Festival on Saturday July 12 in our new event.

Residents and visitors alike will have the chance to experience an array of flavour-filled stalls and some favourite flicks courtesy of funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

Based at Bridgford Park from 12.30pm to 9.30pm and in conjunction with Broadway Cinema and Film Hub Midlands, there will be over a dozen street food vendors providing a range of culinary treats with hot drinks and bar.

There will be three feature films and workshops including:

  • 12.30pm-2pm: Before the first film Ratatouille, kids can get creative at a hands-on workshop Yes, Chef! to have a go at making their very own chef’s hat just like main character Remy. Perfect for little ones who dream big!
  • 2pm: Ratatouille (PG) – the children’s Pixar favourite from 2007. Remy, a rat, aspires to become a renowned French chef. However, he fails to realise that people despise rodents and will never enjoy a meal cooked by him.
  • From 3.30pm: Wonka workshop - Invent Your Own Sweet, suitable for all ages. Dream up your own magical sweet invention, just like Wonka would. Then move through the interactive activity stations to design, name, and optionally build your creation!
  • 4.30pm: Wonka (PG) – the 2023 modern day musical fantasy prequal to the famous Chocolate Factory film. Armed with nothing but a hatful of dreams, young chocolatier Willy Wonka manages to change the world, one delectable bite at a time.
  • 7.30pm: Bridget Jones − Mad About The Boy (15) – the latest instalment of the popular romantic comedy films. Bridget navigates life as a 50-something widow, juggling single motherhood, dating again, and social media mishaps.

Throughout the day there will also be interactive food workshops for all ages by Cook With Della and a selection of short films and archive footage themed on food and drink between the screenings.
