Bridgford Park, West Bridgford

Bridgford Park Playground

Location: Central Avenue, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 6AP.

Bridgford Park is a beautiful Victorian park set within the leafy suburb of West Bridgford. The park is home to Bridgford Hall which is the base for Rushcliffe Registry Office. 

The junior play area at Bridgford Park, designed for children up to 11 years old, underwent a complete makeover in summer 2011 and is hugely popular. The sand factory, cradle swing and spectacular Amazon multi-play unit are real crowd pullers.

Facilities at the park include a fitness trail, tree trail, junior and teenage play areas, a catering outlet and modern toilets (£0.20p charge).

The Croquet Lawn at the front of the park is available for hire.

West Park, West Bridgford

Location: Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7JE.

Contained within the open space that is West Park are five tennis courts (four mini tennis and one full size court), two pavilions (the Sir Julien Cahn pavilion and a recently-constructed sports pavilion), and a grassed sports field which is used for cricket in the summer time and mini-football in the winter.

Tennis courts at West Park are managed in partnership with Activeace. Advance booking is required. Pay and Play rates are £8.25 per hour per full court and junior rates available at £4.12 per hour for mini courts. Flexi-Court passes are available for £85 per household and offer access to all our courts in West Bridgford all year round. The refurbished facilities at Gresham Sports Park include two state of the art 3G floodlit football pitch and six full-sized and one mini grass football pitches.

In addition to the high quality changing facilities and extensive car parking, the sports pavilion has a very attractive room for socialising that can be hired for anything from meetings, to training sessions to children's birthday parties. The room measures 15 x 10 metres and can accommodate 50 people.

Rushcliffe Country Park, Ruddington

Rushcliffe Country Park’s play area is open following investment in refurbishments with upgrades and new accessible equipment for all children to enjoy at the popular site.

The Ruddington based park now boasts a new Kanope Tower multi-play unit featuring 14 different play elements and a new wooden trail and offers panoramic views of the park.

The play area has also welcomed a new pendulum pod swing and a fully inclusive wheelchair see-saw.

Existing equipment has been refurbished and improved with the full scheme adding 28 new play elements and 47 additional user activities.

Adbolton Lane, West Bridgford

The refurbished £80,000 play area at Adbolton Lane in Lady Bay, West Bridgford is open for children and visitors to enjoy. 

Previous equipment has now been replaced with a bespoke play area with 11 new items whilst some existing features have been refurbished, retaining the accompanying grass play area for informal sport.

Children can have fun on the new wheelchair accessible see-saw, tortoise springer, hammock swing, bongos, creepy crawly panels, flower tubes, raised stage area and roundabout features

Greythorn Drive, West Bridgford

New park facilities are open at Greythorn Park play area in West Bridgford following an £80,000 investment.

The Greythorn Drive-based park has welcomed an extension to the play area, new cradle swings, inclusive play panels and colourful ground graphic games.

New inclusive equipment including a jeep, seesaw, spinning bowl and dynamic rope swings have now been installed and existing play equipment has been refurbished.

The astroturf football pitch will be resurfaced soon and a new bench also installed to provide seating around the play area.

Alford Road, Edwalton

The development of Alford Road site took place in 2022 and boasts a pirate theme with a new roundabout, zip-line and included refurbishment of the existing play equipment, ground works and resurfacing.

Children can have fun on the 'walk the plank', climb the crow’s nest and treasure trail features.

Alford Road also features a large flat grassed area of parkland which is used as both a recreational open space and sports venue. There are three adult and two junior sized football pitches and one rugby pitch which are available for hire. The site also has shower, changing rooms, toilet facilities, a teen-shelter and basketball ball court.

Boundary Road, West Bridgford

Boundary Road play area is suitable for children aged 0-12. The focal point of the site is a large mound with stepping stones, boulders and a climbing wall. There's also a Gyrospiral seesaw, Speed Gyro roundabout, springers, a cable way and pod swing.

West Bridgford’s popular Boundary Road Play area reopened to the public in January 2024 after receiving £63,000 investment in refurbishments.

The play area welcomed a new climbing wall, zip wire, accessible seesaw, swing sets, benches and the refurbishment of springers and other toddler and junior play features and improvements to the safety surface.

The works included replacing a large earth mound with more accessible equipment whilst incorporating natural play elements.

Meadow Park, East Leake

Location: East Leake Play Area, East Leake, LE12 6QD

An agricultural landscape of meadows, trees and hedgerows, with Kingston Brook running through the middle. This site is about 18 hectares (45 acres) in size and provides paths around the site and an informal ‘play’ area suitable for picnics and games. Rushcliffe Borough Council delegated management of Meadow Park to East Leake Parish Council in 2008, whilst retaining ownership.

Designed for children from 2 to 6 years old, the centrepiece is a bespoke three-tower castle structure featuring an engaging mix of imaginative and adventure play activities.
