EV Charge Points

Electric Vehicle Charging Points

Introduction

Icon for electric vehicles

The council is developing electric vehicle charging sites across the Borough in partnership with Nottingham City Council and the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles. This is part of the Council’s commitment to being carbon neutral by 2030. Energy and Climate Change - Rushcliffe Borough Council

There are 2 types of chargers available across the borough - rapid or fast chargers. Rapid chargers only charge one electric vehicle (EV) at a time (47kW AC/50kW DC) delivering up to 80% capacity in 25-40 minutes. Instructions on how to use a rapid charger can be found in this bp Pulse Youtube video. These chargers have an emergency stop button which should only be used in an emergency situation, for example, there are exposed cables or the unit has smoke coming out of it. In all other circumstances the bp Pulse helpline should be contacted on 0330 016 5126. This number can also be found next to the display on the charging units.

Fast chargers (7kW) are intended for low level top-ups during the day and are available for residents to use overnight. One or two EVs can charge at the same time; if two EVs are plugged in it splits the charge across the two vehicles. Instructions on how to use a fast charger can be found in this bp Pulse YouTube video.

Fast chargers have been funded by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles.

  • Rushcliffe Arena car park in West Bridgford
  • Gamston Community Centre
