Our Environmental Health team is responsible for the assessment and improvement of private rented accommodation in our area.
Our objective is to make privately rented homes decent, safe and comfortable to live in.
The team deal with complaints regarding the poor condition of rental accommodation, these complaints include issues such as the presence of damp or mould, lack of heating, dis-repair, lack of fire detection or overcrowding.
We also deal with complaints regarding Blocks of Flats, Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and HMO Licensing.
In certain circumstances the team also investigates poor housing conditions in owner/occupied properties.
Rushcliffe residents in privately rented accommodation are being asked to complete a short anonymous online survey and alert the authority if they are living in a property with significant damp or mould problems.
The survey is being carried out by Rushcliffe Borough Council to find out how prevalent the issues are in privately rented houses in the area and the results could help shape work with landlords and tenants to manage the risks they can cause.
Tenants can now give feedback, completely anonymously, in the online survey open until Tuesday January 31 or you can call the Council’s Customer Services team on 0115 981 9911 to participate.
