Reducing Your Carbon Footprint - Householders

Top tips for reducing your carbon footprint.

  • Use the WWF Carbon Footprint tool to assess your current footprint and get tips on how to improve it

  •  Insulate your home. You may qualify for a grant to help you do this

  •  Switch your energy provider to one that offers 100% renewables

  •  Make sure you turn off any lights and appliances that are not being used

  •  If you can, ride a bike or walk to your destination rather than driving a car. Active travel is not only beneficial for the environment, it’s also good for you!

  •  Reduce, reuse and recycle your waste

  •  Take a reusable coffee cup and a water bottle with you when you go out

  •  Buy local food and eat seasonal produce.  If you can grow your own! Have a look at our allotments and gardening page for further advice and information

  •  Shop Locally
