  1. For the last financial year (2020-2021) how many fines or fixed penalty notices did your authority issue for fly-tipping? 58 (less 7 that were issued and then cancelled)
    • How many were paid/unpaid? Paid 42 (£8,320), unpaid 5, written off 2, withdrawn 1.

    • What was the total revenue received from these fines or FPNs? (actually received by your authority) £8,320

    • What is the total amount (in £s) unpaid after 30 days? 5 x £400 full rate = £2,000

    • How much was spent on issuing these fines? 9 were issued by the council officers these cost £1518.608 in officer and admin times. The remainder were issued by a agents on a concessionary contract meaning no cost to the Council.

    1. For 2020-21, the amount for fly tip clearance was £44,538.57.
      In 2020-21, RBC had a major industrial fly tip which cost an additional £27,795 in disposal costs.
      Total of £72,333.57.
      With the commercial-based fly tip which we don’t usually have, this has skewed the costings for 2020-21, without it, clearance costs for the last 3 years have been:

      2019-20= £37,589.43
      2020-21= £44,538.57
      2021-22= £45,741.11
