Connecting Communities Through Active Travel

This bid was for cyclist and pedestrian improvements to the area south of the river Trent in West Bridgford, Nottingham, to enable the new pedestrian/cycle bridge crossing to fully realise its benefits by connecting communities and providing safe, direct, free flowing and logical pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, in line with LNT 1/20. The project would have included:

  • Upgrading of circa 800m of existing river side footpath to the south of the river Trent, including widening, and providing lighting
  • Improvements to the Lady Bay junction
  • Improvements to 4no. crossing points

The amount of money being requested from the fund

  • £3,038,370

The name of any external contractors used in the bid

  • Bentleys Project Management and ITP World

The amount paid to each of the external contractors used in the bid

  • ITP - £9,785.00
  • Bentleys - 6,825.00

The total estimated cost to the local authority of putting the bid together

The total cost was £16,610 (as above) which was paid for from Rushcliffe Borough Council’s UK Shared Prosperity Funding allocation.
