Please provide information about declaring a climate emergency.

Response

1. Has the council declared a climate emergency?

No the Council has made a climate commitment to be Carbon neutral by it own operation by 2030

2. Is there a councillor at Cabinet level who is a Climate Champion?

Yes

3. Does the council have a Local Transport plan? If so, does the plan include a carbon budget as defined as a cap on the amount of greenhouse gases emitted?

The local transport plan is the responsibility of the upper tier local authority Nottinghamshire County Council

4. How many council properties are there? How many council properties have been retrofitted to Energy Performance Certificate c or higher?

As per amendment below, Rushcliffe Borough Council do not own any council housing properties. All properties of this kind in the borough are owned by an independent 3rd party.

6. How many council-owned locations are there? Of these, how many electric vehicle charging points have been installed?

We have installed 17 charge points to date, with a further 17 planned, including a minimum of one solar-powered canopy hub. We have 23 off-street car park sites, with electric charge points on 6 of those sites and a further 5 sites planned.

7. How many street lights are there? Of these, how many lights are LED?

We have around 326 off highways lighting assets across the borough, predominantly car park lighting. Of these off highways lighting assets I would say 70 could be classed as 'street lights,' of these 50 of them are LED.
On street lighting falls under the remit of the upper tier local authority Nottinghamshire County Council.
