The total amount spent by the council on preparation for the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). Including, but not exclusive to spending external consultants, advisers, and/or law firms engaged specifically in relation to LGR, as recorded in the council's financial ledger/accounts system. Please provide this as a single total figure per financial year.
    
   If the council holds this information under a specific budget or cost code relating to LGR, please provide the figure recorded against that code. If not, please provide your best readily available total on LGR-related work.
    
   For 2026/27, if your finance system cannot  isolate spend to 7 September 2026, please instead provide the total for the nearest full reporting period you can readily extract and state which period the figure covers.

I am seeking information about the evidence base and transition work being developed in connection with Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). I am not requesting a full contract register, detailed technical asset register or information which would require the creation of new analysis. Where information is already published, please provide the relevant link.

1. Economic Baseline. Has the authority produced, commissioned or begun preparing a combined economic baseline for the proposed/reorganised authority area? If yes, please provide the document, or if already published, its title and URL. Please indicate whether it covers any of the following:
   • business population.
   • employment.
   • productivity.
   • key sectors.
   • deprivation.
   • economic performance.
2. Growth Hotspots, Cold Spots and Priority Places. Has the authority identified any geographic areas within the proposed/reorganised authority as:
   • economic or business-growth hotspots.
   • areas of economic weakness or deprivation.
   • regeneration priorities.
   • town-centre priorities.
   • strategic employment locations.
   • business parks.
   • innovation districts.
   • other priority economic locations? If yes, please provide the names of the areas and any report, map or dataset used to define them.
3. Business and Sector Intelligence. Has the authority mapped or analysed businesses across the proposed/reorganised authority by:

4. Local Procurement and Economic Impact. As part of LGR planning, has the authority established or begun establishing a combined baseline covering any of the following:

   • VCSE spend.
   • supplier location? If yes, please provide the latest available headline figures or the relevant report. Please also state whether the authority intends to measure changes in local economic impact or local pound performance after reorganisation.

I would like this information to cover costs that have solely been incurred by Rushcliffe Borough Council and to cover all costs incurred relating to LGR - such as dedicated LGR staff, administration etc.

Last week, the leaders of all Nottinghamshire councils were presented with nine "workable" options for reorganisation by consultancy firm PWC.

Seven of these options involve some form of expansion of Nottingham to include either of the neighbouring boroughs of Rushcliffe, Gedling, and Broxtowe - or any combination of the three.

Could you please provide the details of these nine “workable” options?
