The Rushcliffe Big Green Book

The Big Green Book is a directory of nature based activities and green spaces in Rushcliffe which showcases nature based and outdoor activities and groups across the borough, helping you to discover opportunities to support your health and wellbeing.

We Are Undefeatable

We Are Undefeatable is a national campaign that supports people living with long term health conditions to be active in ways that work for them. The campaign encourages individuals to focus on what they can do by promoting realistic and achievable ways to build movement into everyday life.

The campaign offers a range of free resources such as an app which provides tailored exercise programmes, work out videos and hints and tips to get started.

This Girl Can

This Girl Can is a national campaign which celebrates active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets.

It has been a massive success in getting more females to take part in sport and physical activity - and we want to localise this success in Rushcliffe.

Notts Women Runners is an inclusive, friendly group for ladies across Nottinghamshire. Check out their sessions in Rushcliffe below, or visit Notts Women Runners for more information.

NWR West Bridgford Warriors: Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm, Sunday at 9am, meeting at the bus stop next to Alford Road Playing Field.

NWR Ruddy Rebels: Thursday at 6:45pm, meeting outside the visitors centre in Rushcliffe Country Park.

Act Now, Age Better

Act Now, Age Better is a campaign created by Age UK to encourage movement at all ages to help move towards a stronger and healthier later life.

The campaign helps to give you ideas of ways to get moving by offering top tips, advice for getting started and an activity finder to help you explore activities in your local area.

NHS Active 10 App

The Active 10 App is a free mobile app encourages small amounts of brisk walking everyday to improve health and wellbeing.

The app tracks your walking pace, measuring brisk minutes and encourages you to meet 10 minutes of brisk walking a day.

Couch to 5K

A free running programme aimed at absolute beginners to help you begin on your running journey.

The Couch to 5k app sets a plan that builds week by week with a choice of trainers to help motivate you. You will also be able to connect with the Couch to 5K community.

Public Health England has dedicated web page called Every Mind Matters which has a wide range of practical support to help you manage your mental health.

Population Health Management (PHM)

PHM is about helping people to live healthier, happier lives by improving the health and wellbeing of everyone in our communities. It focuses on preventing ill health, supporting people to stay well, and reducing health inequalities so that everyone has the opportunity to achieve the best possible health. In Rushcliffe, we've developed a Population Health Management Calendar, with each month highlighting a different health topic. Throughout the year, we share practical advice, local services, support available across the borough, and simple ways to improve your health and wellbeing.

Buddle

Buddle are on a mission to understand and respond to the sector’s needs by providing free, accessible, bite-sized, learning and support resources designed to inspire and strengthen clubs, community organisations, and the professionals that work with them.

Buddle works with experts to provide the latest information, training and tools that can be tailored to meet individual needs and circumstances.

Play their way

Play their way adopts a child first coaching method which prioritises the rights of children and young people in sport and activity through their voice, choice and journey.

Play their way has a free app which contains a coaching assistant to get quick answers to questions, exclusive resources and access to events and webinars.

Pride Sports

Pride Sports is a UK wide organisation working to improve access to sports for all LGBT+ people.

They campaign for change, educate, promote good practice and actively grow LGBT+ participation and satisfaction in sport.

Access Sport Inclusive Club Network

The access sport inclusive club network is a national network of community sports clubs that are working to transform the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children and young people across the UK.

The club offers a network of like minded clubs, coaches and volunteers, regular webinars and access to training and resources.
