Are you looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a keen and enthusiastic person to join our busy Democratic Services Team.

About Us:

Rushcliffe Borough Council provides high quality services to more than 110,000 residents in a borough made up of vibrant towns and stunning villages. Our Council offices are located in West Bridgford, Nottingham in a purpose-built office and leisure centre facility, Rushcliffe Arena.

The Role:

We don’t mind if you come with loads of experience or fancy trying something new. You will support daytime and evening meetings – in-person, virtually, and hybrid – by making appointments, checking reports, preparing agendas, and taking notes at the meeting to formulate into minutes.  We livestream all meetings and full training will be given to enable you to carry out this aspect of your role. We use the Modern.Gov committee management system to keep a computerised record of agendas and minutes and you will need to be familiar with the Council’s Constitution and the Access to Information Regulations.

You will work with officers at all levels across the Council and with elected Councillors to support them in their democratically elected role.

You will support the Leader of the Council as their PA on a daily basis, and you will also support the work of the Mayor – including the civic engagement programme, organising events, talking to members of the public, and attending events throughout the municipal year.

As well as supporting meetings, the Leader and the Mayor, you can get involved with the Councillors’ training programme, publishing the Forward Plan, updating the Councillors’ Portal as well as corporate projects outside of the Democratic Services team.

Benefits of working for Rushcliffe Borough Council include:

·       Working in purpose-built offices with reduced membership of the onsite leisure centre

·       Free car parking

·       Rushcliffe Rewards - save money across a range of retailers and leisure providers

·       Generous annual leave and opportunities to buy and sell leave

·       An opportunity to further your career with a high performing forward looking Authority with training to support CPD and personal development

·       Local Government pension scheme

·       A range of salary sacrifice schemes

Rushcliffe Borough Council supports flexible and part time working in line with the needs of the public that we serve and the business needs of the Council. We believe that embracing flexibility is a smart way of working and ensures we can find and support the mix of talent and experience we need. We are open to a chat about flexible working possibilities when you apply for a job with us.
