I am writing to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 about income generated by parks services.

1. How much income/revenue has been generated from your parks services in the last three years per annum?
2. Please give details of individual services and how much they raised.
3. Is the money generated from these services fed back into council owned parks or does it go into a central budget?
4. Are your parks currently maintained by the council or by an external contractor? Over the past three years have they been maintained by the council or by an external contractor?
5. Can you tell me what your council maintenance budget has been over the past three years?

Response

1. How much income/revenue has been generated from your parks services in the last three years per annum?
   • 2022/23 -£42,867.23
     2023/24 -£120,063.49
     2024/25 -£115,224.15
2. Please give details of individual services and how much they raised.
   • The vast majority of this income comes from Rushcliffe Country Park in relation to hire of space, rooms and rental of café accommodation.
3. Is the money generated from these services fed back into council owned parks or does it go into a central budget?
   • The income generated doesn't cover the running costs, so in essence yes, it is fed back into council owned parks
4. Are your parks currently maintained by the council or by an external contractor? Over the past three years have they been maintained by the council or by an external contractor?
   • Maintained by the councils inhouse staff currently and for the past three years.
5. Can you tell me what your council maintenance budget has been over the past three years?
   • Running costs of parks as below.
     2022/23 £566,110.87
     2023/24 £623,660.22
     2024/25 £652,678.29
