I am submitting a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please provide the current grounds maintenance regime operated by Rushcliffe Borough Council for each of the following land types:

  1. Housing Revenue Account land
  2. Parks and public open spaces
  3. Verges on the “highway” and greenspaces within the “adopted highway”

For each category of land, please include the maintenance regimes as to the extent they may currently exist:

  • The maintenance activities carried out  for example grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, shrub bed maintenance, tree works.
  • The frequency or schedule of each activity
  • Any service standards, specifications, or performance measures used
  • Whether the work is delivered in house or by external contractors
  • If contracted out, the name of the contractor and the contract start and end dates

Please provide the current grounds maintenance regime operated by Rushcliffe Borough Council for each of the following land types:

  1. Housing Revenue Account land Not applicable, Rushcliffe does not own any Housing stock
  2. Parks and public open spaces. All activities detailed in the table below are delivered In House. On occasion some activities maybe delivered by a contractor, due to the need for a specialist skill and or capacity. This is done on a ad-hoc basis.

Grass Cutting - General Open Spaces Average once per month, March to November  Set in house standards - Varies per site
Grass Cutting - Sport Pitch Facilities  Average bi-weekly or weekly, March to November  Varies per site - our pitches adhere to the Performance Quality Standard criteria (PQS) as endorsed by the Football Association (FA) and published by the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) 
Grass Cutting - Wildflower Meadows  Once per year  Set in house standards - Varies per site
Weedkiller Application  Average twice per year Set in house standards - Varies per site

Litter Picking, Bin Emptying and General Cleansing 
Varies from once a week to everyday. Follows NI195 inspection guidance and grading
Hegde and Shrub Cutting  Average once per year Set in house standards - Varies per site
Tree Maintenance Ad-hoc Set in house standards - Varies per site
Playpark Inspections  Weekly  Follows Register of Play Inspectors International operational inspection standards
Playpark Repairs  Ad-hoc Repairs are to a standard that meets Register of Play Inspectors International operational inspection standards
  1. Verges on the “highway” and greenspaces within the “adopted highway” This is the responsibility of Nottinghamshire County Council
