Response

  1. The total number of fly-tipping incidents reported in 2023-24 in the Rushcliffe Borough Council area,
  2. A list of the top 5-10 fly-tipping hotspot locations (street names or postcodes), and
    • This requires processing of the dataset which is not required under the FOI regs. I have provided a dataset for the period in question, you may process as you wish.
  3. Current enforcement measures (CCTV, patrols) and annual budget for fly-tipping cleanup/enforcement in 2023-24.
    • We utilise a private company to undertake the majority of enforcement. They have access to reports and can access each report. Visit as necessary and issue fixed penalty notices on reasonable suspicion of an offence.

    • There is no specific budget for fly-tipping cleanup - dealt with by the councils in-house street cleansing staff / contractors when appropriate (asbestos etc).

    • Enforcement teams pursuing offenders where they have evidence of names, addresses, registration plates etc, leading to some clean up costs being recovered.
