Information about building control, development control and local planning in Rushcliffe.

The Policy and Performance Unit prepares the Council's overall planning policies to guide development in the borough. These policies are then implemented when decisions are made on planning applications.

In this section of the website you can find out about where new homes and industry will be built under the Local Plan/Local Development Framework, view details on all current and historic planning applications within the borough, and send us your comments on planning issues. If you need information on applying for planning permission, you will find this (and the accompanying forms) in the Planning Applications (Development Control) section.

Decisions on planning applications

The Development Control committee, which decides some planning applications, meets approximately every four weeks. The agenda papers for each meeting are published five working days before the meeting, and include reports on individual applications as well as the meetings of the previous meeting. See the calendar of meetings to access agendas and minutes for these meetings. You may also wish to read information about how planning decisions are made and by who (sometimes called the Council's delegated arrangements).


Consultation begins on potential eco town at the former RAF Newton site in Rushcliffe 25/06/2008

Press release from The Crown Estate: The Crown Estate, Defence Estates & Newton Nottingham LLP today announced plans to explore the potential for an eco-town on their holdings in Rushcliffe and are keen to work closely on this with the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and Rushcliffe Borough Council.


Rushcliffe Eco Town 25/06/2008

It is understood that The Crown Estate have written to local councillors on Friday 20 June informing them that the three major land owners of the former RAF Newton site (Defence Estates, Newton Nottingham LLP and The Crown Estate), have sent a submission to the Department for Communities and Local Government with their proposals for an eco town at the former RAF Newton site.
