Housing benefit

Housing benefit helps people on low incomes pay their housing costs (but not if you get Universal Credit and your housing costs are included). If you rent privately, apply for benefit and are entitled to it, you or your landlord will be sent a payment. You may be living in a flat or bedsit, a house, hostel or lodging etc.
