Councillor Mrs Maureen Stockwood was elected as Rushcliffe's Mayor for 2018/19 at the Annual Council meeting on 24 May 2018.

 

Rushcliffe Borough Council's Mayor for 2018/19 is Councillor Mrs Maureen Stockwood. Councillor Mrs Stockwood represents the Cranmer Ward on the Borough Council which includes the villages of Aslockton, Whatton, Car Colston, Scarrington and Screveton.

Councillor Mrs Stockwood lives in Bingham, where she has lived for over 40 years, and has four children, Paul, John, Angela and Fiona, as well as six grandchildren. Councillor Mrs Stockwood was born in Nottingham and attended the Manning Grammar School and spent her working life working in accounts and then in the Mass Radiography Unit of the General Hospital and later at the Queen's Medical Centre. Councillor Mrs Stockwood also worked for 2 years at the City Hospital on a research project attached to the Neo-Natal Unit. First elected to the Borough Council in 1999, Councillor Mrs Stockwood previously served as Mayor of Rushcliffe in 2005/06; she is also a member of Bingham Town Council and has also been the Mayor of Bingham. In her spare time Councillor Mrs Stockwood enjoys needlework, flower arranging and painting in oils and watercolour.

Councillor Mrs Stockwood will be supported in her year as Mayor by her Consort, Councillor Francis Purdue-Horan.
