Information and a map of Edwalton Conservation Area.

Edwalton Conservation Area was designated on 15 December 2005.

It consists of two distinct character areas:

  • The old village of Edwalton with its many eighteenth and early nineteenth century vernacular buildings and listed church.
  • High quality, low density Victorian, Edwardian and inter-war residential development along Melton Road and Valley Road with its large houses extensive gardens and mature trees. This includes the listed ‘Edwalton Hall’ and locally listed ‘Great Musters’.

There are also a number of Victorian and Edwardian properties of merit along this important arterial route.

Although Edwalton village is now part of the continuously built up area of West Bridgford it still retains its village character due both to the survival of many old buildings of historical interest and architectural merit and to the presence of many mature trees and valuable open spaces.
