Armed Forces Day Proms in the Park

Rushcliffe Borough Council marks Armed Forces Day, a nationwide celebration to honour the work of the UK Armed Forces, past and present with a free open-air musical event

In 2018 our Armed Forces Day celebration tookj place on Saturday 30 June 12pm-9pm in Bridgford Park, West Bridgford. There were performances throughout the day from local choirs, singers and bands leading up to our rousingly patriotic 'last night of the proms' concert at 7pm with Nottingham Concert Band and guest mc Colin Slater. The musical programme featured works to commorate the WW1 Centenary and 100 years since the formation of the Royal Air Force.

The event's official charity was the Royal British Legion poppy Apeal. The 2018 event sponsors were Grosvenor House Day Nursery West Bridgford  Tony Pritchard, own of Grosvenor House Day Nursery said: “We’re delighted to continue to play our part in working alongside Rushcliffe Borough Council in sponsoring such a fabulous local event.  We know it’s going to be a great day out for the family and we’ll look forward to seeing some familiar faces there.” 

The next Proms in the Park will take place on Sat 29 June 2019.
